Joanna McCann Cyrus
Joanna McCann Cyrus has over thirty years’ experience performing with many orchestras and chamber groups in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, as well as at New York’s Carnegie Hall. Joanna earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Maine and has performed with artists ranging from Isaac Stern and Yo-Yo Ma to Phish. Joanna teaches private violin lessons to all ages and is currently accepting new students. She would enjoy sharing her love of playing the violin at your special event!
Mary Alice McCann
Mary Alice McCann earned her bachelors in cello performance from U Mass-Lowell and her masters from Boston University, supported by her studies at the Aspen Music Festival, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, and the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music. Mary Alice was principal cello for the Rivers Symphony Orchestra and performed with the Florida West Coast Symphony, the Portland Symphony, and the New England String Ensemble.
Karen McCann is a classically trained professional double bassist. She was a full time member of the Bass section in the Portland (Maine) Symphony Orchestra for thirty years and has performed regularly with several other New England area orchestras. She holds a Masters Degree in Music Performance from Arizona State University. She loves playing the bass guitar and it’s versatility for all styles of music…from light classical through pop/rock, folk and jazz.
